Power Up Your Business

THE INS AND OUTS

Business is a game, but it’s a game only for adults. Learn how to play this game and win! The Power Up Your Business (PUYB) training programme is a 6 or 12-month powerful interactive training programme that helps SMEs to plan, align and implement business strategies for success.

It starts with a preparatory phase in which I assess your company’s wellness in terms of strategy, operations, finances and personnel. Thereafter I conduct an analysis of all the stakeholders and/or participants of the programme.

The feedback of the assessment and analysis is collated and a programme is customised for your specific need and requirements.

The sessions are collaborative and based on best practices of applied leadership development and business skills training methodologies. It is focused both on active and interactive participation and not on parrot style or pedantic teaching methods. My approach is tailor made, unique, effective and offers a fresh and affordable alternative for your business.

It entails a 1 X 4 hour-session per month for the 12-month version or 2 X 4-hour sessions per month for the 6-month version.

HOW IT WORKS

Thanks to a plethora of research, there is no doubt that appropriate business skills, well trained employees, a healthy culture and effective leadership are some of the essential hallmarks of a successful business. In order to ensure that these components become the norm for a company, perpetual training and development is a must. Making the right choice of trainer and type of program is however quite a dilemma. The fact that +/-$60 billion is wasted worldwide on ineffective training (a situation referred to as “the great training robbery” – Forbes) makes this decision both critical and very difficult.

The Phoenix Destinies Business Training Academy offers a practical and powerful business training and leadership development program tailor made for SME’s. The training methodology is not didactic and it addresses both hard and soft skills within the business environment. It is collaborative and is based on best practices of applied leadership development and business skills training methodologies. It is focused both on active and interactive participation and not on parrot style or pedantic teaching methods.

Our approach is tailor made, unique, effective and offers a fresh and affordable alternative.

The program offers strong emphasis on ‘learning that lasts’ and immediate and positive results for the customer and the company is guaranteed. The customer does not have to wait for the end of the program to experience and see results. These are immediate. The program focuses on consistent, appropriate and lasting behavioural change at all levels within the organisation. The main aim is to lay a firm foundation within the company’s fabric that will form the basis for real growth and sustainable business success and to ensure cohesion at all levels within the company.

From a time management and cultivation of lasting behavioural change point of view the ideal application is for the program to run over a 6 or 12 month period. It entails a 1 X 4 hourly session per month for the 12-month version or 2 X 4 hourly sessions per month for the 6-month version. During each of the sessions a particular topic is covered which in turn is based on the suite of modules that the company has chosen for itself and that addresses the organisation’s specific requirements.

A key feature of the program is individual accountability. Each new session starts with participants sharing publically how they’ve applied what they were taught in the preceding session and what worked or didn’t work for them. This is discussed and solutions are found for the challenges that they may have encountered. They then receive education on a new topic whereafter they commit to a specific way in which they are going to apply one or more of this new topic’s principles. This cyclical and practical approach ensures that both the company and the individual immediately start benefiting from the training and it gets everyone involved and committed from the word go.

Apart from the training venue and overhead projector which the customer must provide, Phoenix Destinies will provide all relevant printed materials including the graduation certificates and will carry the cost of the graduation ceremony at the end of the program. The latter is a celebration style ceremony (with catering) which marks the end of the program. During this ceremony, we will share the challenges & successes in story form that were experienced along the way as well as the end results achieved for the company and each participant.

If there are unique training and developmental requirements I am able to design & develop industry specific material on request and at a to-be-determined additional cost to the program.

In closing, I agree with Richard Branson who said: “Train people well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they don’t want to.”
